Umma Insurance Brokers FAQsI HAVE A COMPREHENSIVE MOTOR INSURANCE POLICY, WHAT WILL IT COVER? Your comprehensive car insurance policy covers you against loss, damage and third - party liability. You are also protected against damage to your motor vehicle due to accidental collision, overturning, fire, external explosion, self-ignition, theft or malicious act unless specifically excluded. Accrued legal liability and agree costs and expenses against third party bodily injury/ property damage arising out of use of motor vehicles unless specifically excluded. I ONLY HAVE A THIRD PARTY LIABILITY POLICY, WHAT WILL IT COVER? This is the most basic cover and is compulsory as per the Kenyan Law, Third - party liability covers you against; Death or bodily injury to any third party / person. Damages to third party property arising out of the use of your motor vehicle. More importantly, this policy does not cover any damage or loss to your own vehicle. HOW IS THE MOTOR PREMIUM CALCULATED? ARE THERE ANY ADDITONAL CHARGES INCLUDED? Vehicle Premium is a rate on the current depreciated Market Value of any vehicle. Market value can be discussed with our sales agents for further explanations. Third Party Legal Liability premium is as per the tariff fixed by the Government authorities based on number of cylinder capacity. WHAT IS THE PERIOD OF THE POLICY? Your Policy is for 12 Months (365 days) unless a different period of insurance was agreed with you specifically. WHAT IS THE DEDUCTIBLE OR EXCESS? It is the first amount of the loss that has to be paid by the Policyholder. Deductible will be applicable from the 2nd year of renewal with any insurance companies. WHAT IS THE CLAIM LIMIT? Vehicle is insured up to the current Depreciated Market Value and the Legal Liability is paid in full to the extent of liability incurred as per law. Insurance Company will only pay the Depreciated Market Value at the time of a total loss claim. WHAT ARE THE POLICY EXCLUSIONS? Broadly the following claim types will not be admitted (unless there is a specific cover purchased and referred in the Schedule). Damage to own vehicle: - Mechanical breakdown; damage only to tires; loss or damage by perils of nature; - breach of limitations as to use of the vehicle including overloading/ riding off road; violation of Traffic Laws including driving without a valid license; Own Vehicle/ Third Party Liability - accident under the influence of alcohol / drugs For detailed policy exclusions, terms and conditions, please read our detailed policy wordings/policy schedule. WHAT IS THE PROCEDURE FOR RECORDING ANY CHANGES IN THE POLICY? Inform the changes in writing and we will issue an amendment to your Policy post review. CAN I TRANSFER MY INSURANCE TO THE PURCHASER OF MY VEHICLE? Yes. This is handled in the same way as other changes. There is a small fee to be paid by the Policyholder. WHAT TO DO IN CASE OF AN ACCIDENT? - In case of an accident, please contact the Police at 999 to report the accident, especially if you are injured or cannot drive the vehicle. Otherwise, go directly to the Police Station with the other party for investigation; - If the vehicle is severely damaged and cannot be driven, then leave it in a safe parking and proceed to the nearest Traffic Department in your area; - Get a Police Report stating the accident details and the approval for repair; - Contact us and speak to one of our dedicated claim advisors for more information to register a claim. - Submit the Original Police Report along with a copy of your Registration Card and Driving License; - Complete the Claim Form; - Contact the Road Assistance to transport the vehicle to the allocated workshop as advised by the insurance company; - For Car Replacement Facility (if selected at the time of policy), insurance company will provide the contact details of the rental company from where, the insured will pick up the entitled car. - In case of an accident, please Contact the Police to report the accident, especially if you are injured or cannot drive the vehicle. Otherwise, go directly to the Police Station with the other party for investigation; - If the vehicle is severely damaged and cannot be driven, then leave it in a safe parking and proceed to the nearest Traffic Department in your area. WHERE SHOULD I REPAIR MY VEHICLE The Policy specifies if the Policyholder can repair at either (1.) Agency or (2) any Workshop approved (Non-Agency). Repairs can start only after the damage and repair scope/ costs are approved by the insurance company. * All the above answers are subject to policy terms and conditions.

Medical InsuranceCAN I GET INDIVIDUAL INSURANCE COVERAGE? Yes CAN I ADD MY PARENTS TO MY HEALTH INSURANCE POLICY? Employee's spouse and children are the only dependents that can be enrolled in the insurance policy. HOW CAN I CLAIM A COVERED BENEFIT WITHIN THE NETWORK PROVIDER? At a network provider, simply follow the following steps: - Approach the reception. - Make your request for a doctor/consultant or inform them your preferred doctor. - Present your Medical Insurance Card along with your ID. - Pay the upfront co-payment or deductible. - Follow their instruction to meet the doctor. HOW CAN I CLAIM A COVERED BENEFIT WITHIN THE NON- NETWORK PROVIDER? At a non-network provider, simply pay the medical services and submit your claim for reimbursement. This can be done by keeping the following documents to be presented later to Insurance Company: 1. Original completed claim form. 2. Copy of Insurance Company Access Card (Insurance Card). 3. Original itemized receipt. 4. Original prescription issued by your licensed physician. 5. Copy of tests, hospital discharge reports, doctor reports and results. 6. Copy of your prior approval. The above are documents that you would always be provided with, so please make sure not to misplace them. You also have another option. Call Insurance Company's 24 hour Call Center. In certain cases, where the treatment is outside the country, we may be able to arrange for direct payment at that provider. It is recommended to contact us few days prior to your visit, especially if your medical condition requires hospital admission. Note: Maximum allowed time limit for submission reimbursement claims is 60 days if treatment occurred in Qatar and 90 days if occurred outside Qatar from treatment date. ARE MATERNITY COMPLICATIONS COVERED? If the maternity benefit is included in your plan, maternity complications will be covered subject to the maternity sub-limit mentioned in the policy. IS CAESAREAN SECTION COVERED? If maternity benefit is included in your plan, Caesarean Section will be covered subject to the maternity sub-limit mentioned in the policy. * All the above answers are subject to policy terms and conditions
